Art for All Abilities

A big part of our mission is ensuring everyone has access to art making and the joy of belonging.

Art for Abilities celebrates and empowers individuals with cognitive differences.

We understand that each person possesses a unique and beautiful perspective on the world. This is an inclusive and nurturing space where participants can explore a range of artistic mediums, encourage self-expression, and gain a sense of accomplishment.

Led by our dedicated Program Director, Laurie Engdahl and our lead teacher, Cathy Karp, our workshops are carefully crafted to cater to individual abilities, ensuring that every participant finds joy in their artistic journey.

We are committed to creating a space where individuals of all cognitive approaches to the world can thrive.

Programs

Arts and Crafts Club

Arts and Crafts Club welcomes teens and adults with cognitive differences to join us for sociable and creative fun at Fowler Library. Activities include painting, collage, Sculpey, and more. You can join us for one class or come every week. This event is free thanks to Concord Public Library and the community supporters of Art for All. Please register to help us with planning.

We meet every Tuesday and Wednesday at the studio!

Working at Arts and Crafts Club is fun! Let us know if you would like to come as a volunteer assistant, or a paid (or volunteer!) guest artist. Contact hello@villageartroom.com to inquire.

Artisan School

Unlike Arts and Crafts Club, Artisan School is exclusively tailored for teens and adults with cognitive differences who are serious about exploring art making techniques, developing their skills and making products to display and sell.

At Artisan School, we offer a specialized learning environment, where our students receive personalized attention and guidance from experienced instructors. If you're eager to embark on this artistic journey with us, get in touch, and we'll arrange a friendly interview to ensure the best fit for your needs.

Join us weekly during the school year and discover the joy of creating art with like-minded individuals.

One of our artisans, Clare Hwang, is our first Three Stones Gallery Art Apprentice!
